  1. Carmelized onions make everything better. I especially love using Vidalia onions for this so sweet and good.

  2. Thank you for the various methods. We love caramelized onions on burgers, fajitas, philly steak etc.

  3. Everyone loves
We cannot wait until season opens. So glad it did.

Wonder. Can you freeze, and save great taste

  4. We love our Vidalia onions and I buy a bag weekly, they are so sweet and good, and great on everything!

  5. I tried the caramelized onions in the instant pot and they turned to mush I didn’t even sauté them again at the end. I told my family I made onion jam they spread it on the steak and then added the peppers and onions I sautéed. Everyone liked it but I still want to make caramelized onions that turn out. I’m going to try less time in the instapot next time. I had never used baking soda before and that really did seem to help them to brown.

    • Hi Kerry,

The Instant Pot method does make them mushier than other methods, so depending on your need for the onions you may want to go another route. I’ve used the Instant Pot when making caramelized onion dip and they’ve always turned out fine. I really love them in the slow cooker because it’s a super easy way to make them and you don’t have to stir them constantly. Hope that helps!
