  1. I use an Excalibur dehydrator and make my own “candy”. I will blend frozen strawberries with a little water and then pour the liquid onto teflex sheets. Overnight I have all natural fruit leather. I roll it in parchment paper and tie it with ribbon. My kids love it and are the envy of their friends. I also buy over-ripe bananas, break them into largish chunks and dry them for about three days. They turn into “banana taffy” and the kids eat them by the jar full.

    I’ve even dried raw butternut squash. My daughter loves it because it is chewy and sweet. I love it because she is getting great nutrition from what she thinks is a treat.
