Price Chopper Adds Two Health Care Clinics to Stores

February 14, 2014

Price Chopper has partnered with Ellis Medicine to offer health care clinics at two stores in Latham and Malta, NY. Continuing to market itself as a purveyor of health and wellness, the Schenectady-based grocery chain offers a doctor, physician assistant or nurse practitioner daily between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the walk-in clinic located near the store's pharmacy.

The health care clinics are run by Capital Region QuickCare, a Schenectady-based corporation. The walk-in clinic can treat a variety of minor illnesses including allergies, cough, earache, flu-like symptoms, congestion, muscle aches and pains, motion sickness, pink eye or styes, respiratory and sinus infections, sore throat and urinary tract infection. As well as sports physicals.

"We're very pleased to be offering our customers another convenience that will help them live healthier lives," said Neil Golub, executive board chairman at Price Chopper.

Price Chopper has also partnered with Capital District Physicians' Health Plan to bring shoppers kiosks that allow them to check their health.

Price Chopper stores in Bethlehem, Schenectady, Malta, Glenmont, Johnstown and Poughkeepsie now offer shoppers Health Stations kiosks that allow them to check blood pressure, weight, heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature and, with the help of a pharmacist, cholesterol and blood sugar, all for free.
