Publix Super Market Charities continued its support for local communities with a $50,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, Inc for a home build in east Fort Meyers, FL. This brings the total amount Publix Super Market Charities has raised for the local organization to $649,000.
For the third year in a row, Meijer will offer scholarships, up to $10,000, for its team members and their children. The Fred & Lena Meijer Scholarship, a private scholarship, was originally started in 1975 at the Grand Rapids Community Foundation for children of Meijer team members. In 2010, the scholarship was expanded to include team members.
